COMPREHENSIVE CARE

Your mouth affects your body in many ways, and they all have a bearing on your health.

That's why our Smiles Ohio team believes in providing more than just general dentistry. We provide truly personalized comprehensive dentistry, treating not only the symptom that may have brought you into our office but also, more importantly, treating the cause of the problem. We take time to talk with you and listen to you. We know that even minor oral health problems can affect your whole body.

Instead of waiting for oral problems to affect your health, we choose to see the larger picture by restoring and then maintaining your optimal oral health.

Our West Chester team will provide you with a thorough and honest evaluation of your overall oral health, ensuring that you make an educated and informed decision about your general dental and comprehensive care.

Restorative Dentistry

Our focus is on restoring teeth rather than just filling them. We look at your whole mouth and use the most advanced type of dentistry to give you optimum oral health.

We will work with you to restore your teeth's beauty and function, making them strong so they will last the rest of your life. We want your teeth to look and feel good and natural.

CEREC for Restorations in an Hour!

One of the most impressive advancements that we have invested in is CEREC technology for pure porcelain crowns, inlays and onlays in one short visit. CEREC restorations allow for even the busiest people to get the restorative care they need!

It's true. With CEREC, Cincinnati CEREC technology, you only make one trip to the dentist to get your porcelain crown. And there are no impressions to make. The CEREC machine simply takes a digital image of your tooth and then carves out a crown - made just for you - in just a few minutes. Dr. Munowitz can place the crown as soon as it's done. There's no waiting for a lab to make a crown and no concerns about an incorrect fit or temporaries coming out. It's one visit, one injection, one perfectly fitting restoration!

Preventative Dentistry

A healthy mouth and a beautiful smile require routine care to stay that way. Too often we let daily obstacles get in the way of staying in a wellness routine. Here at Smiles Ohio in West Chester, we work hard to make every visit so pleasant, you won't hesitate to find time for this important dental care.

Everyone needs outstanding preventative care such as oral cancer screenings and comprehensive oral exams. One of the best things we can do is make sure we catch cavities before they cause extensive damage. Adults with deep crevices in their teeth or other risk factors can benefit from Diagnodent and air abrasion for deep crevices - all performed painlessly and without shots.

Wellness Check up

We offer general dental care that includes thorough dental exams and cleanings, as well as a full dental evaluation of a patient's oral condition. We screen for gum disease, which if left unattended, has been linked to heart diseases, stroke, diabetes, cancers and premature births. If caught early, periodontal disease can be reversed. But even if it is detected late, we can use one of the many effective cosmetic and restorative dentistry procedures to achieve a healthy, beautiful mouth.

Oral Cancer Screenings

Many people think of tobacco use as the primary cause for oral cancer but there are many more causes. Alcohol consumption, a diet low in fruits and vegetables, and even the sun, are causes of oral cancer. In fact, this form of cancer accounts for about 2% of cancers in women and 3% of cancers in men. According to the American Cancer Society, it is one of the few cancers for which the death rate has actually increased. We want to keep residents of the Cincinnati area cancer free.

Don't let this often-painless cancer creep up on you. If you experience any unusual swelling, redness or discoloration in your mouth, if you have any difficulty swallowing or feel that something is caught in your throat or if you have a persistent, unilateral earache, even if the way your teeth fit together has changed, please give us a call. Oral cancer is more common than almost any other cancer and the signs and symptoms can be subtle. Our advanced screening methods can detect all types of oral cancers in their earliest, most curable stages. We care about Ohio's oral health.

Cleaning/Advanced Hygiene

Advanced hygiene gives us another way to care for your body while caring for your mouth. Healthy gums are the first step to complete oral health - and complete oral health can protect and ensure your long-term physical health. Taking care of periodontal problems is how we begin dental treatment with all of our new Cincinnati patients. Our cleanings are extra gentle and thorough and you'll leave feeling refreshed and sparkling every time.

Gum Disease and Periodontal Treatment

We can't say it often enough - we want you to be healthy. That's why we treat all of our greater Cincinnati patients to the healthiest and most proactive care available. It is also why we take the health of your gums so seriously.

Recent studies show that not only can tooth decay affect your systemic health, the bacteria from periodontal disease can cause all kinds of trouble from heart attacks and strokes, to low birth weight babies and pancreatic cancer. And believe it or not, more than 85 percent of people have some level of periodontal or gum disease. Often, it is misdiagnosed or simply ignored. We use advanced training and technology to diagnose and treat periodontal disease before it becomes a major threat to your health.

We use a variety of new technologies, such as ultrasonic scalers, to make the treatment of this disease more thorough and comfortable than ever before. We can apply antibiotics directly to gums to help kill bacteria that cause the disease. High-tech lasers can aid in diagnosing the disease and make treatment more comfortable. In short, this disease is treatable, even at an advanced stage, to help you keep your teeth and improve your health.
